"My host family made sure I had the best experience any international student would want to have living in Canada."

Great Agbamuche, a Nigerian student who graduated from Villanova College in 2023, spent two years living with a Host Family. Over that time, they all became very close, sharing stories, meals and memories over their daily life.
Great is now a student at York University, where he is studying Health Sciences and Kinesiology – and he still keeps in contact with his Host Mother, Gila Yefet!

Great Agbamuche, Homestay Student at Villanova College (2021-2023):
"I really loved my experience at Villanova as an Amerigo student. I loved every day and everything, especially having a beautiful host family that were concerned about my mental, physical and emotional health. Also, they made sure I had the best experience any international student would want to have living in Canada. I really miss my host family.
Furthermore, studying with Amerigo was not an all-academic thing - it was also social. I met different kids from different backgrounds and visited places I didn't think I could visit which really made me love my time with them, like going to Montreal and watching the Toronto Raptors play. Finally, as a Villanova student, I loved the teachers, the friends I made there and the environment. I'm happy that Amerigo was my decision."
Gila Yefet, Host Mother to Great (2021-2023)
"Hosting Great, our international student from Nigeria, was an enriching experience that deeply impacted our lives. From the moment he stepped into our home, his warmth and respectfulness were palpable. Quickly integrating into our family dynamic, Great effortlessly transitioned from being a temporary international student to becoming an integral part of our daily lives. Engaging in conversations about his homeland, his studies, and his aspirations became a cherished part of our routine. I found joy in offering assistance with his assignments and witnessing his dedication and growth firsthand. Even as Great embarks on his journey at York University, our bond remains steadfast, and our regular communication serves asa testament to the lasting connections forged through hospitality and shared experiences."
